The Saint met the later Byzantine Emperor Romanos IV Diogenes (reigned 1068-1071), who was hunting in \u017degligovo. Between 1300 and 1318/21 a certain anagnost Radin from Nagori\u010dino in \u017degligovo (anagnosta Radina Nagori\u010danina iz\u044c \u017degligova) wrote a gospel for the priest Zagoranin in Su\u0161ica. According to the Lives of the Serbian Kings and Archbishops, written by Archbishop Danilo II and his successors, the Serbian King Stefan Uro\u0161 III De\u010danski (reigned 1321-1331) gathered his army in the forefront of the Battle of Velbu\u017ed in the first half of 1330 on a field called Dobri\u010d, located in today's South-Eastern Serbia at the confluence of the rivers Ju\u017ena Morava and Toplica. He intended to confront the Bulgarian Tsar Michael III \u0160i\u0161man (reigned 1323-1330) at this place. As messengers informed him that the Bulgarian Tsar had reached the castle of Zemen in the upper course of the river Strymon (Struma), at that time the border between the Serbian Kingdom and the Second Bulgarian Empire, he set his army in march and first moved to Nagori\u010dino, where he prayed in the Church of Saint George (priide v\u044c monastir\u044c svoi k\u044c svetomu mu\u010deniku Hristovu Geor\u044cgiju Nagori\u010d\u044cskomu). After the Serbian victory at the Battle of Velbu\u017ed near today's Kjustendil on 28 July 1330, Stefan De\u010danski captured Michael \u0160i\u0161man and brought him to \u017degligovo (aduxere eum in Segligovo), where he died and was buried in the Church of Saint George in the village of Nagori\u010dino (et sepulchro datus est in Ecclesia sancti Georgii in pago Gorichina). In the year 1349 (u zemli \u017eegligov\u044cskoi) and 1354/55 respectively (u zemli \u017eegligov\u044cskoi) the Serbian Emperor Stefan Uro\u0161 IV Du\u0161an (reigned 1331-1355) mentions \u017degligovo in his charters for Church of the Presentation of the Holy Mother of God in the village of Arhiljevica. The localisation of Arhilevjica remains unsolved. It might have lain near Pre\u0161evo (today in Serbia) or in the Skopska Crna Gora in the triangle of the villages of Belanovce, Domanovci and Izvor\u044c. In the Serbian Annals a church in the Skopska Crna Gora above \u017degligovo is mentioned (u \u010cr\u044cm\u044cnyje Gory, vy\u0161e \u017degligova; eius vero mater aedificavit Ecclesiam in Nigro Monte, supra Segligovo). The same source often conflates \u017degligovo and Nagori\u010dino in one unit (I u Nagori\u010dinu na \u017degligovo cr\u044ckov svetago velikomu\u010denika Georgi\u0308a; i u Nagori\u010dinu na \u017degligovu crkov\u044c svetago velikomu\u010denika Georgi\u0308a; i u Nagori\u010dinu na \u017degligovu crkov\u044c svetago mu\u010denika Georgi\u0308a; i u Nagori\u010dinu na \u017degligovo cr\u044ckov\u044c svetago velikomu\u010denika Georgi\u0308a; i u Nagori\u010dinu na \u017degligovu crkov\u044c svetago velikomu\u010denika Georgi\u0308a). \u017degligovo is mentioned by the Serbian Janissary Konstantin Mihailovi\u0107 (15th century) in his memoirs (\"and as he [scilicet the Serbian Emperor Stefan Uro\u0161 V] reached the land of Constantine, he pitched his tent in the field of \u017degligovo\" and \"as the Sultan Mehmed [II] arrived near the field called \u017degligovo on the border of Rascia\"). The term \"Land of Constantine\" relates to the Serbian Despot Konstantin Draga\u0161, who ruled over \u017degligovo in the second half of the 14th century and was therefore called \"\u017degligovac\". \u017degligovo served probably as a deployment area for the Ottoman Sultan Murad I (reigned 1360-1389) before the Battle of Kosovo in June 1389 against the Serbian Prince Lazar Hrebeljanovi\u0107 (reigned 1373-1389). The Byzantine Short Chronicles report that the Ottoman Sultan B\u0101yez\u012bd I (reigned 1389-1402) handed over the relics of Saint Hilarion of Moglena (11th/12th centuries) to Konstantin Draga\u0161 in 1394, who resided in \u017degligovo (\u1f41\u03c0\u03bf\u1fe6 \u1f10\u03ba\u03ac\u03b8\u03b5\u03c4\u03bf\u03bd \u03b5\u1f30\u03c2 \u03c4\u1f78\u03bd \u1f48\u03b6\u03af\u03b3\u03bb\u03bf\u03b2\u03bf). Thereupon, Konstantin brought the relics to the Monastery of Sarandapor\u044c. In the year 1395 Konstantin Draga\u0161 fell in the Battle of Rovine against the Wallachian Voivode Mircea the Elder (reigned 1386-1418). In the year 1479 the scribe Vladislav Gramatik compiled a liturgical book (Panegyrikon) in the Monastery of Saint Bogorodica \u010cr\u044cnogorska at the foot of the \u010cr\u044cna Gora (Skopska Crna Gora) in the region of \u017degligovo (v\u044c pr\u011bd\u011bl\u011b \u017eegligovsc\u011bm). The humanist and diplomat Felix Petan\u010di\u0107 (ca. 1455-after 1517) refers to \u017degligovo as \"Gegligove\". In 1512 Ottoman troops pillaged \u017degligovo and Ov\u010de Pole (To l\u011bto pl\u011bni\u0161e Turci \u017degligovo, Ov\u010de Pol\u011b).
