Elijah are situated on the south side of the semicircular bay of the Island of Lopud built probably in the 9th century, while Church furnishing from the 11th century indicates that the Church was restored the restoration at the end of the early medieval period. The Church of St. Elijah was first mentioned in written sources 1249.\r\nIts a single nave building with a dome supported by squinches. Allegedly, traces of frescoes could once be seen on these squinches, but today the rain mostly washed them away. Interior walls have lesenes placed in the middle of the wall leaning against the stone consoles, which is specific to this edifice.
