Then, he settled in a cave in Babin\u044c D\u014dl\u044c at the foot of the Osogovo Mountains (p\u014ddkril\u00efe gory Osogovsk\u00efe) near the river Skupica (pri r\u011bc\u011b gljem\u011bi Skupice). Finally, he went to a plot of land called Sarandapor\u044c (v\u044c p\u014ddkrily gory Osogovskye na m\u011bst\u011b gljem\u011b Sarandapor\u044c). He built a church in honor of Saint Joakim Osogovski and kept his relics there. He was also the first abbot of the monastery. A monk called Arsenije from the city of Veles (\u014dt Velesa grad) experienced his conversion in the monastery's church. The genealogical tables of the Serbain rulers attest that the Serbian King Stefan Uro\u0161 II Milutin (reigned 1282-1321) founded several monasteries, including that of Saint Joakim (Sarandapor\u044c svetomu otcu \u0407\u014dakimu). Actually, King Milutin did not found it, but gave order to renew it. The Serbian King Stefan Uro\u0161 III De\u010danski (reigned 1321-1331) crossed, in the run-up to the battle of Velbu\u017ed on 28 July 1330, the region of Slavi\u0161te. The Byzantine short chronicles relate that the Ottoman Sultan B\u0101yez\u012bd I (reigned 1389-1402) handed over the relics of the Saint Ilari\u014dn of Moglena to the Serbian nobleman Konstantin Draga\u0161 in 1393. The Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II (reigned 1451-1481) stayed in the Monastery of Sarandapor\u044c in 1463 on his campaign to Bosnia (i dohodi u manastir\u044c Sarandapor\u044c na Krivoi r\u011bc\u011b). The Republic of Ragusa (Dubrovnik) decided in 1474 to give a donation of 20 perper to the Monastery of Sarandapor\u044c (elemosinam monasterio Sancti Joachim partium Bulgarie). Arsenij, who was the abbot of the Monastery of Sarandapor\u044c, died in 1488 (pr\u011bstavi se igumen\u044c Sarandaporskyi, kyr Arsen\u0457e). 41 Monks lived in the monastery according to the Ottoman Defter from 1519.
