Die Wahl (531) Stephans zum Bischof von Larisa wurde vom Patriarchen in Kpl. angefochten, worauf sich Stephan an Papst Bonifaz II. wandte. Nach 1204 Larisa Sitz eines latein. Erzbischofs 1208; wies Papst Innozenz III. dem Erzbischof, welcher propter hostium circumstantiam sine damno rerum et propriae timore personae nicht mehr in Larisa residieren konnte, Ferchika (\u2192 Pharsalos) als Ersatzresidenz an. Letzter Beleg f\u00fcr einen latein. Erzbischof 1219. 1222 ein Kalospit\u0113s als erster griech. Bischof von Larisa nach dem latein. Zwischenspiel bekannt; seine vom Provinzialklerus durchgef\u00fchrte Wahl vom Patriarchen Manu\u0113l I. Sarant\u0113nos nicht anerkannt. Anl\u00e4\u00dflich von von Kampfhandlungen in Larisa 1318 wurde der Metropolit in einem Schreiben des Patriarchen angewiesen, seine Amtsgesch\u00e4fte im Bistum \u2192 Charmaina auszu\u00fcben, bis wieder friedliche Zust\u00e4nde in Larisa herrschten. Offensichtlich residierte er damals im nahe bei Charmaina gelegenen Patriarchatskloster \u2192 Marmarianoi. Das im 4. Jh. bl\u00fchende Larisa wurde nach Zerst\u00f6rung und Pl\u00fcnderung durch die Ostgoten Ende 5. Jh., da es nach den Barbarenst\u00fcrmen fast unbefestigt war (\u03c3\u03c7\u03b5\u03b4\u03cc\u03bd \u03c4\u03b9 \u03ac\u03c4\u03b5\u03af\u03c7\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2) unter Kaiser Justinian mit m\u00e4chtigen Mauern neu gesichert. Bei Hierokl\u0113s u. K\u014dnstantinos Porphyrogenn\u0113tos Larisa Metr\u014dpolis der Eparchia Thessalia, bei letzterem im Verband des Themas Makedonia, Zur Zeit Le\u014dns VI. \u00dcberfall der Bulgaren auf Larisa, zu deren Abwehr der hl. Nikolaos Neos nach Thessalien kam (\u2192 Bunaina). In den Jahren 976\u2013983 weitere \u00dcberf\u00e4lle der Bulgaren unter Samu\u0113l; die Einnahme der Stadt vereitelt durch die List des Kekaumenos, welcher damals als Stratege von Hellas in Larisa residierte. Dem Nachfolger des  Kekaumenos als Stratege von Hellas gelang es jedoch nicht mehr, Samu\u0113l zu t\u00e4uschen, welcher 986 Larisa eroberte u. die Reliquien des hl. Achilleios nach Prespa brachte. Der 1006\u20141007 inschriftlich bezeugte Stratege von Larisa u. Makedonia kann nicht mit dem thess. Larisa in Verbindung gebracht werden, da es nur vor\u00fcbergehend Sitz des Strategen von Hellas war u. ein Stratege sonst nur f\u00fcr das kappadokische Larissa nachzuweisen. 1064\u20141067 ein Pr\u014dtospatharios Nikulitzas Delphinas, welcher gegen seinen Willen in einen Aufstand der Blachen gegen Kaiser Konstantin X. Dukas verwickelt wurde, Herr von Larisa.  1082/1083 Larisa von Bohemund belagert u. von Kaiser Alexios I. befreit. Im Chrysobull des Alexios III. f\u00fcr die Venezianer 1198 die provincia (\u03ad\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03c7\u03af\u03b1) Larisse, in der Partitio Romaniae 1204 das Orion Larisse bzw. Horion Lariss\u0113s (in der franz\u00f6sischen Version verst\u00fcmmelt zu Ocitiolarisse) genannt. Larisa 1204 Treffpunkt von Le\u014dn Sguros u.
