Zeit das Gebiet um Megara eine eigene episkepsis, bei der Aufteilung 1204 den Kreuzfahrern zugeschlagen (orium Athenarum cum pertinentia Megaron). Megara begegnet im 4.\u20146. Jh. als Bistum, d\u00fcrfte aber aufgelassen worden sein u. wird erst wieder am Beginn der Lateinerzeit, um freilich 1222 im Zuge der Zusammenlegungen mit Athen vereinigt zu werden; in der Katalanenzeit (nachweislich ab 1351) wurde das Bistum reaktiviert (Suffragan von Athen, Magara, Magvera, Meguera u. \u00e4.). Nach der Errichtung des Dukats von Athen verlief bei Megara (citra Macram) die Grenze mit Morea; in der Ebene von Megara (el plano de la Megara) sammelte Wilhelm II. von Achaia seine Truppen vor der Schlacht von \u2192 Karyd\u0113, die Truppen des Sebastokrat\u014drs I\u014dann\u0113s pl\u00fcnderten die Umgebung auf einem Streifzug; Erw\u00e4hnung der de la Roche als Besitzer von la Maigre im Testament des Walther von Brienne. 1311 von den Katalanen besetzt, 1371 im Einvernehmen mit den Katalanen u. de la Roehe von Venedig, 1374 von Nerio Acciajuoli; er \u00fcberlie\u00df 1390 den Venezianern el castello e la terra de la Megra, die es ihm jedoch 1394 im Rahmen des Friedens mit dem Despotat von Morea zur\u00fcckgaben u. im Krieg um seine Erbschaft (u. auch sp\u00e4ter) nicht wiedergewannen. Somit im 15. Jh. wie Athen im Besitz der Acciajuoli;  1455 hier Enthauptung der Chiara Acciajuoli, der Witwe Nerios II., u. in der Folge 1456 Eroberung durch die T\u00fcrken. \u2014 1214 als Besitz des Deutschen Ordens ein hospitale S. Iacobi dc Macra Atteniensis diocesis erw\u00e4hnt. Weitere Belege in Itineraren u. Portulanen (Migra, Magar u. \u00e4).\r\nMon.: Von der ma. Siedlung anstelle der beiden Akropolish\u00fcgel mi heutigen Ortszentrum nur geringe Reste. \u2014 Au\u00dfer Funden fr\u00fchchristlicher Architekturteile u. Spolien Reste eines fr\u00fchen Peristyl-Wohnhauses, dessen R\u00e4ume im Rechteck um einen Innenhof angeordnet waren; die zahlreichen Kirchen im Bereich des Kastron wahrscheinlich zur G\u00e4nze t\u00fcrkenzeitlich. \u2014 Etwa 1 km nw. von Pach\u0113, s. von Megara, auf einem Akropolish\u00fcgel an der K\u00fcste (Flurname t\u00fcrkenzeitlich D\u014ddeka Ekkl\u0113sies) geringe Reste einer sp\u00e4tma. Burg (etwa rechteckige Anlage 150 x 80 m), durch Wiederverwendung im 2. Weltkrieg stark verfremdet 1. \u2014 In der n\u00e4heren Hingebung der Stadt zahlreiche, zumeist t\u00fcrkenzeitliche Kirchen; noch sp\u00e4tbyz. sind zwei Kirchen n. von Megara (Flurname Elai\u014dn): H. S\u014dt\u0113ra (Metamorphs\u014dis S\u014dt\u0113ros), Kreuzkuppelkirche (kpl. Viers\u00e4ulentyp, mit j\u00fcngst eingest\u00fcrztem Narthex, K\u00e4stelmauerwerk mit kufischen Ornamenten, im Inneren Fresken), datiert 13./14. Jh.; bereits am S\u00fcdabhang des Nioskur\u0113 -Geb. H. Nikolaos (einfache Kreuzkuppelkirche, Viers\u00e4ulentyp, ohne Narthex, au\u00dfen dreiseitige Apsis, die vier Kapitelle von \u00e4lterem Bau). Vielleicht noch byz. zwei Kirchen \u00f6. von Megara (Flurname Kardatas): H. Ge\u014drgios (einschiffig, mit Dachtransept, Typ A2) u. H.
