Den Archonten von Phanarion wurde 1342 von Micha\u0113l Gabri\u0113opulos zugesichert, da\u00df keine Albaner in ihrem Gebiet angesiedelt w\u00fcrden; im gleichen Schreiben Best\u00e4tigung der Besitzt\u00fcmer von Phanarion, vor allem der Kl\u00f6ster \u2192 Lykusada u. Megal\u0113 Porta (\u2192 Porta Panagia). Die Archonten von Phanarion auch 1382 auf einer Lokalsynode in \u2192 Zablantia genannt. 1444 gelang Konstantin, dem Despoten von Morea, kurzfristig die R\u00fcckeroberung von Mittelgriechenland; dabei in Phanarion ein Arch\u014dn eingesetzt. Als Bistum (Suffragan von Larisa) erst 1382 u. 1388 zusammen mit \u2192 Kappua u. nach der Eroberung Thessaliens durch die T\u00fcrken auch separat bzw. als Erzbistum zu belegen.\r\nMon.: Gut erhaltene Burgruine; die Anlage besteht aus einem Mauerring im Gel\u00e4ndeverlauf mit f\u00fcnf viereckigen T\u00fcrmen; zus\u00e4tzlich besonders starker quadratischer Turm zur Deckung des Einganges an der Westseite. Festungsplateau etwa kreisf\u00f6rmig u. 100 m im Durchmesser. Im Inneren Reste einer Zisterne u. eines von einer L\u00e4ngstonne \u00fcberdachten Geb\u00e4udes (Mannschaftsraum). Alle Mauern aus nicht sehr sorgf\u00e4ltig behauenen Steinen mit M\u00f6rtel u. Ziegelbruch. Die einfache u. ans Gel\u00e4nde angepa\u00dfte Anlage wohl als rein byz.
