Anl\u00e4\u00dflich der Besetzung des Gebiets von Neai Patrai durch die Katalanen (1319) 1322 \u00dcbernahme des castrum Phtelei . . . cum sua contrata vocate Nicopolita durch die Venezianer mit byz. Zustimmung (Veneti habent unum castrum juxta marc in Blachia, nomine Fetenli, quod de bona voluntate et sua licentia reliquit eis imperator Graecorurn) u. auf Wunsch der Einwohner (. . . illi de castro . . . se dederint). Sie verwalteten die Stadt durch einen Rektor u. (ab 1340) einen Kastellan, meist in Eub\u00f6a ans\u00e4ssige Venezianer, die ab 1416 dem Regimen Nigropontis in allen Belangen unterstanden, u. konnten sie samt der engeren Umgebung trotz der Isolierung bis ins 15. Jh. halten, wobei sie in Vertr\u00e4gen mit den T\u00fcrken jeweils ausdr\u00fccklich mit einbezogen wurde (Namensvarianten Fitileum, Phitileo, Phytileum, Lofiteleo u. \u00e4.); 1350 Pl\u00fcnderung durch Katalanen u. Albaner. 1470 nach der Eroberung von Euripos den T\u00fcrken \u00fcbergeben, wobei die Einwohner nach Kpl. deportiert wurden. \u2014 F\u00fcr 1365 bei Phteleon \u03c4\u03c1\u03af\u03b1 \u03c0\u03b1\u03c4\u03c1\u03b9\u03b1\u03c1\u03c7\u03b9\u03ba\u1f70 \u03bc\u03bf\u03bd\u03cd\u03b4\u03c1\u03b9\u03b1 belegt, die einem M\u00f6nch Lukas anvertraut wurden; von ihnen eines vielleicht mit \u2192 H. Ge\u014drgios (3) auf dem gleichnamigen Kap zu identifizieren. \u2014 Weiters besa\u00dfen am Anfang des 13. Jh. (Beleg 1213) die Johanniter eine domus dc Phitalea. \u2014 Weitere Belege in Portulanen (Fetelei, Fedalexe), Berichten \u00fcber Piraterie u. \u00fcber eine Landung der Flotte des Umur Pa\u0161a um 1339/40 (Bucht von Qo\u00e7 = Tragobuni).\r\nMon.: In Achilleion Mosaikfu\u00dfboden u. zwei fr\u00fchchristliche Kapitelle gefunden. \u2014 Die ma. Stadtfestung nimmt einen steilen Bergkegel am Strand sw. von P\u0113gadi ein; erhalten am Gipfel, auf einem k\u00fcnstlich erh\u00f6hten Plateau, Reste des quadratischen Donjons (bis etwa 10 m H\u00f6he, im unteren Teil Spolien verbaut) u. einer rechteckigen Zisterne; ferner an den Abh\u00e4ngen des Berges, vor allem nach N, au vielen Stellen Reste von H\u00e4usern u. Spuren eines Stadtmauerringes (Tor an der Nordseite); am Sw. Fu\u00df des Burgh\u00fcgels, an der K\u00fcste Wachtturm Halatopyrgos. \u2014 Am n. Ende der Bucht von Pteleos, auf einem n\u00f6. der ma. Siedlung vorspringenden Kap (Flurname Gynaikokastro) keine Befestigungsreste feststellbar; in einem Olivenhain unterhalb dieses Kaps Reste einer Marienkapelle. \u2192 H.
