Die Namen der Kirche, des alten u. des neuen Ortes sind abzuleiten von dem m\u00e4chtigen Felstor, welches hier den Eingang in den Pindos erm\u00f6glicht. Die Kirche ehemals Katholikon eines der Panagia Akatamach\u0113tos geweihten Staurop\u0113g-Kl., das in der T\u00fcrkenzeit aufgel\u00f6st wurde. Sie wurde 1283 vom Sebastokrat\u014dr Johannes I. Angelos errichtet. Die Besitzungen des Kl. unter Andronikos II. u. 1331 unter Andronikos III. best\u00e4tigt. 1340 ein Papas Port\u014dn belegt; 1342 wurde das Kl. den Archonten von \u2192 Phanarion zugesprochen, 1382 jedoch auf einer Lokalsynode in \u2192 Zablantia dem Kl. sein Besitz wieder best\u00e4tigt. Das Dorf Megalai Pylai als Geburtsort des hl. B\u0113ssari\u014dn bekannt. In den Besitzbest\u00e4tigungen werden genannt: 1) die Orte Argyrolimn\u0113, \u2192 Des\u0113, H. Kyriak\u0113, \u2192 Lessiana, L\u014dpsista (mit Poros), Meleoi, \u2192 Mertzion, Pelets\u0113, Plas\u0113n\u0113 (genannt Drobistian\u0113), \u2192 Phanarion; 2) die Kleinkl\u00f6ster (Metochien) H. Athanasios bei Phanarion, ein D\u0113m\u0113trios-Kl., genannt \u2192 Pyrg\u0113tos, H. Nikolaos t\u0113s Leukosados (\u2192 Lykusada), Nea Mon\u0113, H. Theod\u014droi tu Kyru Paulu, Theotokos-Kl. im Maurobunion, Theotokos-Metochion im Kastron Phanarion, Theotokos-Kl. genannt Boxista; 3) die Kirchen: H. Anthimos, H. Ge\u014drgios Nasku, eine Sot\u0113r Christos-Kirche im Kastron \u2192 Trikala; 4) die Fl\u00fcsse Belas u. Pyrgetos (\u2192 Pyrg\u0113tos), 5) der Berg Maurobunion, 6) die Flurbezeichnungen: Akonit\u0113s petra, Aram\u0113nos, Borbora, Chlerinu topos, Rax\u0113 (\u2192 Raxa), Slontoban.\r\nMon.: Die Kirche steht anstelle eines antiken Heiligtums, von dem noch S\u00e4ulenfragmente vor dem Exonarthex liegen. Sie wurde 1283 erbaut; dreischiffige Basilika, deren L\u00e4ngstonnengew\u00f6lbe im Hauptschiff von einem h\u00f6heren Dachtransept durchbrochen wird. Die wesentlich niedrigeren Seitenschiffe durch auf sechs S\u00e4ulen ruhende Bogen mit dem Hauptschiff verbunden; das Gew\u00f6lbe des Esonarthex von der h\u00f6heren L\u00e4ngstonne durchbrochen. Nach O Abschlu\u00df durch drei au\u00dfen dreiseitige Apsiden. Im Inneren noch das reliefgeschm\u00fcckte Marmortemplon u. beiderseits davon Mosaiken Christi u. der Panagia erhalten. \u2014 Exonarthex: Ende des 14.
