Jh. anstelle der zuletzt in justinianischer Zeit befestigten Kadmeia erbauten Kastell St. Omer (zerst\u00f6rt 1331) der rechteckige Donjon (13,60 x 16 m, H\u00f6he 12 m) erhalten (Mauerung: Bruchstein u. antike Spolien) \u2014 \u00d6. der Burg ausgedehnte Reste eines fr\u00fchchristlichen u. byz. F8,riedhofs\u2018 Grundmauern eines byz. Geb\u00e4udes mit Mosaikfu\u00dfboden des 9.710. Jh. u. weitere Bauten, darunter eine einschiffige Kapelle mit Tonnengew\u00f6lbe u. K\u00e4stelmauerwerk des 10./11. Jh. (dar\u00fcber Anlage der fr\u00fchen T\u00fcrkenzeit) das ma. Stra\u00dfennetz, das z. T. mit dem antiken \u00fcbereinstimmt, ist noch nachweisbar \u2014 Grgorios Theologos-Kirche, einschiffige Kuppelbasilika, wahrscheinlich Privatkirche (Gr\u00e4ber), inschriftlich datiert 872/3. \u2014 H. Nikolaos, auf einem H\u00fcgel w. der Stadt (Flurname Kanabari), \u00fcber antikem Demeter-Heiligtum Reste eines dreischiff. Baues ohne Narthex, die Schiffe durch massive rechteckige Pfeiler getrennt, die s. Apsis au\u00dfen dreiseitig, die beiden anderen halbrund, z. T. Spolien verbaut. \u2192 H.
