Jh.) bezeichnet B-nd-sa las kleine ummauerte Handelsstadt. Nach 1204 geh\u00f6rt Bonditza zum epirotischen Reiche; 1259 zieht sich Michael II. von Epirus nach der verlorenen Schlacht bei Pelagonia nach Binditza zur\u00fcck, u. beginnt von hier aus mit der R\u00fcckeroberung von Epirus. 1294 kommt die Stadt zugleich mit \u2192 Angelokastron, \u2192 Eulochos u. \u2192 Naupaktos an die Anjou (als Mitgift der Thamar, der Tochter des Despoten Nik\u0113phoros I., f\u00fcr Philipp von Tarent), die in der Folge ihre Anspr\u00fcche gegen die Epiroten mehrmals geltend machen m\u00fcssen, wie in den Feldz\u00fcgen von 1303 u. 1306. 134 Belagerung u. in der Folge vielleicht Verlust an Epirus, m\u00f6glicherweise 1325 R\u00fcckeroberung durch Johannes von Gravina, vor 1331 wieder angiovinisch; 1331 Bonditza (wie \u2192 Arta u. \u2192  Leukas) von Walther II. von Brienne, dem Schwiegersohn Philipps von Tarent, erobert; nach Walthers Tod 1356 von dessen Neffen, Jean d' Enghien, Graf von Lecce, \u00fcbernommen; wahrscheinlich 1362 kommt Bonditza an Leonardo I. Tocco. 1363 plant Friedrich III. von Sizilien eine Eroberung. 1377 \u00fcbergibt die Witwe nach Leonardo I. das schon lange von den Albanern bedrohte Bonditza den Hospitalitern; nach deren Scheitern gegen die Albaner 1378 \u00fcbernehmen es die Tocco wieder selbst u. behaupten es gegen Albaner, T\u00fcrken u. Venezianer, bis es 1479 t\u00fcrkisch wird. \u2014 Die Stadt ist seit Le\u014dn VI. durchgehend als Bistum bezeugt, f\u00fcr 1371 auch als lateinisches. Weitere Namensvarianten: Boditza, Bonitza, Bontiza, Bunditza; Boidice, Bojintiztis, Boldoniza (chastello della), Bondanza, Bondi\u00e7a, Bondice, Bonditiensis, Bondiza, Bondonnice, Bonoditia, Bunditia, Munditza, Vodiz(z)a. \u2014 Die Bischofskirche der Theotokos geweiht. 1303 im Zusammenhang mit dem R\u00fcckzug der Belagerer von \u2192 Arta plain (de) la Boidice \u2014 wohl die Ebene um Bonditza \u2014 genannt. Zur Di\u00f6zese Bonditza geh\u00f6rt das Kl. \u2192  S\u014dt\u0113r t\u014dn Sphet\u014dn; in der Umgebung von Bonditza das ch\u014drion Belkonob\u014dn mit der Gegend Longos. Die K\u00fcste um Bonditza bei Ciriaco de Pizzicolli als Bonditiana litora bezeichnet. \r\n\r\nMon.: Der Burgberg liegt unweit n. des heutigen Ortskerns u. reicht mit seinem N-Abhang fast bis zur K\u00fcste. Vermutlich aus der Komnenenzeit stammt der \u00e4u\u00dfere Mauerzug (Mauerung: Bruchstein, M\u00f6rtel, Ziegel, Ziegelbruch, Zierziegel \u00fcber T\u00fcren u. Fenstern; ann\u00e4hernd quadratische u. dreiecksf\u00f6rmige T\u00fcrme), der den Burgberg an dessen SO- u. S-Seite umzieht (Tor an der SO-Seite) u. an der W-Seite in die Ebene hinabf\u00fchrt (dort Stadttor, an dessen Innenseite ein Tor mit Torturm anschlie\u00dft), so da\u00df die Stadtmauer als Fortsetzung der \u00e4u\u00dferen Burgmauer gelten kann. Die Stadtmauer reichte wohl beiderseits bis zur K\u00fcste u. sch\u00fctzte so das Stadtareal gegen das s. Vorland. Der innere Mauerzug, bei dem byz. Mauerreste weiterverwendet sind, ist j\u00fcnger (Zeit der Tocco ?). Diverese Mauerverst\u00e4rkungen, die Zitadelle, die Kirche H. Sophia u. a. Geb\u00e4udereste sind bereits neuzeitlich. \u2014 Etwa 3 km s\u00f6. von Bonditza kleine einr\u00e4umige Kirche der Z\u014dodochos P\u0113g\u0113, genannt Panagia Alichni\u014dtissa, mit dreiseitiger Apsis; urspr\u00fcngliche Mauerung: K\u00e4stelmauerwerk, Zierziegel; diverse sp\u00e4tere Ausbesserungen: Datierung etwa 14.
