After the romance with Thodora ended, Markos gave Thodora to Radoslabos Chlapenos and remarried Jelena according to dijak Dobre, who wrote about it in a note in the festal Menaion (Pysa se sija knyga u Por\u011b\u010di, u sel\u011b zovom Kalugerec\u044c v\u044c d\u044cni blagov\u011brnago kralja Mar\u2019ka, jegda \u014ddade Thodoru Gr\u044cgurovu \u017eenu Hlapenu, a uze \u017eenu svoju pr\u044cvov\u011bn\u2019\u010dan\u2019nu Jelenu, Hlapenovu d\u044c\u0161tere). Markos divorced her again because of her bad behaviour according to Mauro Orbini. She then resided in town of Kastoria. \u0110ura\u0111 I Bal\u0161i\u0107, who wanted to seize Kastoria, persuaded Jelena into marriage.
